Role of a Day Nanny

The duties, tasks and hours that a Day Nanny works will be customised to the individual needs of the family and may include:

  • Washing and dressing children

  • Preparing and supervising breakfast

  • Getting children ready for school

  • Supervising children’s play, including an element of education and development

  • Keeping toys and play areas clean, safe and tidy

  • Preparing children’s meals

  • Laundry of children’s clothes

  • Researching/arranging activities

A Day Nanny would not normally be expected to undertake any general housework.

Screening Process

We take our job very seriously in providing the very best Day Nannies the United Kingdom has to offer. All Day Nannies who apply to work with us must pass our stringent screening process before we can place them with a family.

We know all the specialist qualities we are looking for and during their initial interview we can get a real feel for if they have the skills and experience required that makes them an expert in their field.

All our Day Nannies must have:

  • Paediatric First Aid Certificate

  • Enhanced DBS Check

Formal qualifications held by our Day Nannies may include:

  • NVQ Level 3

  • CACHE Level’s 1 – 5

  • City & Guilds

Day Nanny Costs

Day Nannies are employed and their Tax and National Insurance is paid directly by the family. Their salaries can vary according to experience. The following salaries are a guideline only and some Day Nannies may charge a little more.
